Snapshot Songs

Snapshot Songs was a community music project and year-long collaboration between the composer Stuart Hancock and residents of London, culminating in a performance by over 150 musicians, singers and spoken-word artists of all ages and backgrounds.

Collaborations between the composer Stuart Hancock, artist and facilitator Olivia Preye Bradbury and musicians, singers and spoken-word artists of all ages and backgrounds took place for over six months to compose music and song lyrics for the commission. The final performance featured over 150 participants.

  • Rhiannon provided creative support to the composer throughout, with particular focus on developing collaboration methodologies for use with partner organisations, including the crime prevention charity Only Connect. The video above is of Only Connect members’ performance at the final event.

Snapshot Songs was a song-cycle celebrating London’s zeitgeist delivered by Barbican/Guildhall Creative Learning and the SHM Foundation.
